Paint from the Cow

I was just reading the Stylish Nest on low VOC paints, and it was a timely reminder to repaint paint our current living room in Casein, which is made from milk and farmers used to paint barns with it, so it’s pretty durable. It dries to a very slight sheen, just above matte but not as shiny as semi-gloss. It smells like fresh cut hay. Mostly it’s used for furniture, but it can be used for walls too. It really is a nice finish. There are a couple of sources off the bat: bioshieldpaint.com and realmilkpaintcom.
For the more adventurous, or if you just can’t find it in your country, here is a recipe for milk paint at Sinopia.com
